Michael Hughes, LMT

I am Michael Hughes and have been trained in Massage Therapy with special focus in Oriental Medicine including Tui Na, Thai Massage, Shiatsu and cupping/ Gua Sha. I am well versed in a multitude of Asian Massage modalities and incorporate a combination of acupressure techniques and stretches with western style massage (reflexology, craniosacral, circulatory and myofacial massage) to facilitate blood circulation and muscle release for optimum healing and relief.

My journey into massage therapy stemmed from an injury in my youth while competing in a Martial Arts tournament. I had a hairline tear in my supraspinatus tendon (a rotator cuff muscle) and was devastated when my physician informed me that I would never use my arm the same. Years went by without properly addressing my injury and subsequently the pain and aggravation in my shoulder worsened which at times made daily activities difficult. After some time I finally received acupuncture and massage treatments, which in turn got me to the point of being virtually pain-free. I was very impressed and inspired to learn more to help others heal. As a team member at Reflexion Spa, I plan to promote my alternative knowledge of Eastern Medicine and combine science with holistic massage to help educate the way of achieving wellness.

Currently, I enjoy learning and experiencing new things especially with my family, gardening herbs, and Tai Ji, as well as share my knowledge and experience of alternative healing, encouraging you to try it out.

Nancy McManus

Nancy McManus is a dedicated body work professional with a compassionate and intuitive touch.

Originally from the Northeast, Nancy received her initial training at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, MA graduating in 1994 with a focus on Swedish Massage. Her experience working in a wide range of medical massage environments led her to enhance her training with an Associates in Applied Science and become licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Nancy understands the difficulties her clients face in committing to long term recovery while trying to keep up with daily obligations. As a therapist she is a great choice for our clients struggling with recurring or long term issues. Her combination of healing touch and genuine concern for the welfare of her clients has made her an invaluable member of the community and our practice.

Robert Costa

Robert Costa, a graduate of the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics, has been practicing full-time in NM for twelve years. He’s worked primarily in medical massage environments including wellness centers; a physician’s pain management practice; and at an occupational health clinic and nearby offices, treating a major technology manufacturer’s employees and their family members. He’s worked with clients who’ve suffered from occupational and sports injuries, migraines, sciatica, adhesive capsulitis (“frozen shoulder”) and other rotator cuff injuries, FMS/CFS, cerebral palsy, stroke, and a host of other serious medical conditions.

Robert uses techniques and protocols largely garnered from Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) and myofascial release. He believes that deep tissue work, very slowly applied, can spare clients from further pain and injuries. Robert also deals with his own chronic pain condition, and is accompanied at his medical massage sessions by his rescue service dog, Cash, who is named after Johnny.
